I have created many different paintings since 1960. "Misty Mountains", was an imaginary image and study about mountains. I spent my first 29 years living in the Rocky Mountains and the last thirty + in Florida.
"Lovers" was to show that color can create mood at the beach. I am looking for a medium that will show my style. I that watercolor is that medium. Oils are where I started and I still love Oils for Bold true color.
The Oils painting "English Garden",was my thinking through creating a fantasy of what my cottage in England would look like with huge Holly Hocks type flowers the pond, trees, patio are all added on the the cottage image.
The beautiful flower is mixed medium watercolor and colored pencils. It is excersice using watercolor pencils.
The Wave is done in Oils and I worked over several times to get the perfect wave.
"The Giant Pine Tree", I used a fine black pen to draw this tree. It took me from drawing with a pencil to directly using a pen with no corrections.
Seattle Fish Market was my attemp to complete a large colored pencil drawing of a beautiful flower market. I was exploring the medium from a photo taken from a trip.
"Moss Bluff", Oils used to show a wonderful sunset over a swamp.
"Swamp Reflecton", I was creating a water effect of contrast using watercolor.
"Priate Ship", This was from my imagination to illustrate my ablity to draw different images. I drew and painted very loose and lated cleaned it up.
"Twight Swim", This watercolor with people added with represent friends having fun in my younger years.
"Fairplay Deer', is an oil that took me years to get it right is a real scene painted on site.
"Little Grande Lake", is a real scene and one of my favorite oil that I have done in the Rockie Mountains. I sincerely hope you like my art work. e-mail me Hal artisthal@aol.com
