Focusing on the value of every painting is something an artist knows. Every artists has their favorite works of art and they might very well surprise their viewers. An arrtist may love a painting for the reasons that a viewer may never understand. By allowing the artists to tell us their favorite works we get an insight into their sense of art.
Describing why an artist has a particular painting as a favorite is very valubale to the view as it expands the viewer insight and ultimate the way they view the art.
Although a picture speaks a thousand words, a few words also
go a long way to allowing a viewer to explore the art. I myself have heard many different explanations of my art, and very few were close to my interpretation. The viewer paints their own picture from your images based on their own sensibility and experiences.
The idea of every artist contributing their own favorite is valuable for both the viewer and the artists. What we strive for is sometimes different than what we achieve in a painting and from this we grow.
