McCotter experience of the interesting and unique place that she knows so well. The vastness, the remoteness and the toughness are all portrayed with poignancy, freshness and simplicity, which is essentially. McCotter thought her love of the land and the people of the area, that she has made a unique artistic statement.
I do not pursue art. It pursues me. It dogs me throughout my day and never rest. It is the Beast I must feed that is never content. I did not choose to be an Artist, to create, to express what is in my head. It chose me and I am its Slave.
McCOTTER paintings are a first hand experience.

kg0ye - 12/30/2009 14:24:54 It's hard to say what draws people to one subject in art and not to another. With railroads, art has been a part of the scene since the early tea kettle locomotives. Railroads were the first form of mass transportation that offered a "less than jolting ride" and a speed that could not be matched by anything else.
It took a while, decades actually, for railroads to reach a point where traveling from point A to point B became about the journey and not just getting there. The early railroads were slow to learn about ballasting track bed and after a few months in service, the ribbon of steel began to seek it's own level of, well, level. This subsidence caused the early trips on railroads to also become a jolting experience and resulted in longer travel times to destinations. All this began to be solved by putting cushions of crushed rock under the rails to buoy the steel rails and make the ride in passenger cars much smoother.
That's when the romance began, smooth rides and hyper speeds between large cities. Steam whistle's punctuating the night and railway post office cars (RPOs) causing the delivery of letters from far off places at a pace never known before.
Then there was the trip down to the depot to meet someone arriving on a train. Young children watching the steaming giants huffing and puffing and whistling and wheezing became the stuff of dreams. Those young children grew up dreaming of where those locomotives and winding snakes of cars could take them. And that's where the art of the rails began as well.
Who has not seen old or even new postcards with the family awaiting an arriving train at a depot? Most everyone has seen them and even if you were not alive in that time when streamliners ran cross-country, you could possibly catch that feeling of how that train was a connection to somewhere else or even someone else.
That's why I love trains and painting them as I take a ride in my own mind. Whether the subject is old or current, the feeling still arrives with that old and entrenched love of trains. Luckily, if you look for them, you can still find such experiences all across America. But the easiest way is to purchase art that reminds you day in and day out of your love affair with trains and railroads.
Till next time,
Jeff Griffin

Hi, there's nearly 7 billion of us on the planet these days. We are all one, yet we are all different. The differences are sometimes what set us apart in some people's minds, yet in another's mind, that difference is celebrated because it brings choice.
Choice is what art is all about. As a new website at this time Lease My Art has the ability to display many different translations as to what the world looks like to various artists. There are those that work in pastel colors and those that work in bold color.
I prefer to use bold color to catch a viewer's eye. With me it's all about impact. But, I'm here to tell you, that I am well aware that boldness in art is not accepted by everyone. That's why we find artists that use demure, quiet pastel types of presentations. With understated color, the quietness of the piece can be what the artist is all about. Peace of the piece. To a viewer it may be the suggested calmness or how quiet the surroundings the main subject is captured inside.
Whatever, style of art you pursue, you are likely to find it on a large site. There is no wrong art. There is only art. What we see that speaks to us is all that we need to see or know within. Excitement, peace, can actually be the same thing when it comes to art. It's all about the ahhhh!
Till next time,
Jeff Griffin

What Makes Lease My Art different.
This is truly a website for artists.
It is not cluttered with ads and pictures that detract from the art
I is all about the paintings and the artists.
Artists love to share their art and they should be paid for it. You can purchase files for as little as $2.
Every day new art appears on the site that surprises and inspires.

kg0ye - 12/14/2009 16:11:04 Hi, like most of us I have looked at tons of art from artists all over the world. What finally hit me was that the art I liked made me feel a certain way inside. It spoke to my spirit, it raised my heartbeat or made my heart skip a beat.
The chances of finding someone in a random crowd that likes the same art as we do is nearly a million to one. Why is this?
It's hard to really understand when we look at a piece that we love and someone else when queried about it, will only say, "yeah, it's okay."
The answer is deeply rooted in our psyche and our memories. Things that we may not even remember can bring feelings to the surface when we see a great piece of art. It has as much to do with our experiences of growing up and those that we have had as adults. Tastes in art do change as we grow older. Few baby boomers today would hang a poster of some psychedelic musician in their home at this point in time. Does that mean they wouldn't still like that same piece of work? No, they still like it but it won't or doesn't supply that same spark of excitement any more.
So, just because someone says this art is great because Cezanne or Renoir painted it is no reason to buy a copy and hang it in your home. To spend money on a piece it has to move you. It must stick in your mind even if you close your eyes. It says, you must take this home. You are not finished enjoying it in the few minutes that you initially have viewing it.
That's when you know, that you have encountered something very special. The artist has presented something of exquisite subject, color, temperament, ethericity, if I can coin a word. Never, ask anyone what they think of a piece of art that you have chosen. If they like it they will say so. If they don't take it from me, the art doesn't speak to them on the same level as it does you. When you cannot walk into a room where your chosen piece hangs without admiring you know that it nourishes your soul. That's good enough. The hell with everyone else.

Wow, What an exciting month. Lots of questions coming in and I wanted to get you some great information for Promoting your Portfolio on www.LeaseMyArt.org How do we attract non-artists to buy here? Some of the best ways to promote yourself and bring buyers to your art: 1) Make sure your bio is on your profile. The About Page has a place to paste in a very large bio. I myself have put in a very long one and will go to all my blogs and repeat that action. Use your name often and the type of work you do. Write as much as you can. 2)Use a lot of keywords to describe your work. They should fit the work you are showing and also be general like stock art, print my art, buy my art. Use a complete description of your art and tell people what they can use it for: say good for prints or good for cards or magazines or publications. These keywords will bring buyers looking for your art. 3) Use the keyword "stock art" in all your art, buy my art, print my art. 4)You have a blog in your profile. Write as much as you can about your art and what it can be used for. 5) Take your bio and your blogs you write and put them in as many places as you can. These are all good places to get FREE accounts that will bring traffic to your art. Make sure you link these site to your portfolio page so the user comes into your art. Use outside blogs to post your bios and links back to your portfolio page on LeaseMyart.org -such as: www.wordpress.com www.artbistro.monster.com www.fineartamerica.com www.blogger.com www.free-press-release.com www.nayz.com www.ning.com www.twitter.com www.facebook.com www.myspace.com 6) Create a profile on Google and Yahoo and use the URL from your portfolio as a website link. 7)Use the Free banners I have uploaded on www.LeaseMyArt.org in the Banner category. Put this banner on your websites and blogs and link them back to the URL for your portfoilio so buyers come directly to your art. 8) Add other artists on the site as Friends. It will increase the traffic to your pages. You can do that in your members section. "Friends" If you need a category and you don\'t see it send me and email and I will add it. I look forward to seeing more art and will continue to expand my portfolio along with you. Keep creating!! Sincerely, Sharon Tatem President/CEO www.LeaseMyArt.org sharon@leasemyart.org 772-224-8118

Yep it's true. I'm sort of an early adopter when it comes to new things. Lease My Art has given all artists the chance to make money off of their art even if they just lease it or rent it.
It's a novel concept this leasing bit for artists. It may have been thought of before, but not much. The name suggests that it's a fairly new idea on the internet. I can't wait to see how this plays out for all of us using the Lease My Art website.
The one thing all artists need is exposure and whenever a piece of my art is leased and used elsewhere with a byline it has to help their career. Also, if you have fickle tastes, it can allow you to change what you use for art whenever the thought provokes you.
Watch out world, the most forward thinking artists are at Lease My Art.
